Pinterest Challenge Week 4

This week I tried The Explosive Shower Head Cleaner from this great blog, Frugally Sustainable. Honestly, I can't believe I'm showing a picture of my gross shower head, but here goes. All I needed was 1/3 cup of baking soda, 1 cup of vinegar, 1 plastic ziploc bag, and a twisty tie.

Mix baking soda and vinegar in bag over a sink. Caution: Pour vinegar into bag slowly, there is an “explosive” foaming action that kicks in.

Place bag over showerhead. Be sure it is submerged in the baking soda/vinegar solution. I had to tape the bag up so the showerhead would be totally covered.

Secure with twisty tie.

Let the showerhead soak in the solution overnight or for at least 2-3 hours. I started at 2:30 and took it off that night. It soaked for about 7 hours total.

Wipe off showerhead prior to use.

Here is the After! I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. My baking soda was old, so I think it might have worked better with new baking soda. But I will definitely try it again!
